How can I make sure I don't buy fake?
Here's some advise based on our experience, accumulated in the last 8 years of selling autographs and memorabilia:
Check if there is a certificate that accompanies the piece certifying the authenticity. The certificate should be from a reputable company, identifiable by name, address and phone number.
It is of even greater assurance if a company representative, who identifies himself by name as well as signature, signs the certificate.
Individual numbering on the piece, or the certificate, usually indicates that the piece is part of a limited edition. This means that there is a limited amount of items out there, but often it may be more desirable to buy an unnumbered photograph (which may be a one off).
Often a signed piece may be accompanied by a photograph of the celebrity signing. This is great as far as assurance that at one time a signing did take place, however be aware that this proof may be supplied with far greater amounts of photos than were ever originally signed.
Most important of all is to buy off a reputable dealer. Someone who has been in the industry for a number of years. You may pay a little more, but you are paying for peace of mind. Individuals often clutter auction sites, purporting to sell the cheapest in authentic autographs, but be aware! If a deal seems too good to be true, it often is!
Who issues the Certificate of Authenticity?
In general, every autograph dealer issues his or her own certificates. This means that a Certificate of Authenticity (a COA) is only worth as much as the reputation of the dealer who issues it.
So if you ever want to sell your autograph, its value will depend to a great extent on the reputation of the dealer you originally bought it from.

Can you notify me when you get autographs I am interested in?
Yes. If you are looking for a particular celebrity's autograph that we don't currently have, or if you just want to know when I get any new autographs of your favourite celebrities, feel free to e-mail us. We will put you on our Want List and e-mail you whenever a celebrity you are interested in signs for us.
Do you offer a lay by plan so I can buy autographs on time?
Yes we do offer a lay away program. We generally ask for 25% of the order total as a down payment and the rest in regular installments.
We're certainly willing to be flexible, so just contact us and we can organise a schedule that works for all of us
I live outside Australia. Should I pay for my order in Australian dollars and what is the current currency exchange rate?
Yes, we do need payment in Australian dollars.
Most international customers pay with a credit card or international money order and the exchange is done automatically by the credit card company or bank.

Do you accept bids for your autographs?
Yes, we have been known to accept serious offers for our autographs.
If you'd like to place a bid, just e-mail me and we will get back to you either accepting your bid or making a counteroffer, usually within 24 hours.
What is the best way to preserve my autographs?
The best way to preserve any autograph whether it is on a photo, a piece of paper, or anything else, is to dry mount and frame it, preferably acid-free, behind glass or perspex.
The most important thing to remember is to keep your autographs away from direct sunlight and moisture.
It is also a good idea NOT to mount an autograph in such a way that it can never be changed, such as lamination.
This could reduce resale value.

What are the opening hours of your shop?
The Authentics Shop is open from Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM and on Saturdays from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM. We are closed on Sundays.

How much is shipping?
Within Australia, the courier fee is AU$25. We ship unframed items overseas free of charge as well. For international shipping costs for framed items, please contact our head office. If you would like to insure your item before shipment. Additional charges apply.
What are my chances of receiving GENUINE autographs by mailing requests to celebrities?
Very close to ZERO.
Signed items mailed out by celebrities and their representatives are almost universally preprints, secretarials, and autopens. In other words, they AREN'T REAL. Celebrities simply don't have the time to hand sign for the thousands upon thousands of autograph requests they receive. But if you're not concerned about authenticity or the future value of the item, then "autographs" by mail is certainly the cheapest alternative.
