Bay Coffee Roasters emerged only five years ago and is now one of the most recognised roasting houses in Sydney. With a background of 30 years roasting experience, proprietors Robert Perry and David Rosa have created and perfected over 16 rich and flavoursome blends.
Just ask anyone of the serious critics who drop in to have their morning fix or the dedicated regulars ordering their weekly supplies. Why is Bay Coffee so much better than the rest, you ask. Well, besides purchasing the highest quality Arabica coffee beans from around the world, all blends are expertly roasted in-house by the Master Roaster in a Probat gas fired coffee roaster. With a turn over several times weekly and only roasting in small batches, you are assured of the freshest coffee on the market.
Bay Coffee has been in the news! In April 2000 they won the prestigious RAS Easter Show Silver Medal for their Bay Roast House Blend in the Short Black Class. In February 2001 they also won the MyBusiness Nortel Networks Award for ebusiness Excellence. No mean feat for a site that had been operating for just on 12 months at the time!
In November 2001 they launched their Organic range from the Mt Ramulau region of East Timor. It has proved to be a runaway hit and is now available nationally through the David Jones Food Halls & leading organic food stores.
In March 2002 Bay Coffee another two of our coffee blends won medals at the 2002 RAS Fine Food awards. This is our third medal after the Bay Roast won a Silver Medal in 2000. The Mocca Blend won a Silver Medal in the Cappuccino - Classic International Style Class 3 category. This is a dark rich coffee, with dark chocolate overtones. The Royal Special won a Bronze Medal in the Plunger Class 4 category. This coffee displays a medium roast nutty flavour. You can order these coffees at our online store.
